A special thanks to Ed and Doris Risdon for hosting our picnic each year at their beautiful campground. We're fortunate to have you as our classmate.

55TH REUNION

Our 55th Reunion was held on Saturday, September 29, 2012 at The Lafayette House in Lafayette. Music and entertainment by Jo Jo Russell.

This was followed by a picnic/brunch the following day, Sunday, September 30 at Ed Risdon's Harmony Ridge Campground.

50TH REUNION

Our 50th Reunion was a great two days for the class. The weather cooperated and the warmth we've been having in the Northeast continued through the weekend.

It started Saturday afternoon with the school's Homecoming football game against Wallkill Valley, which a number of us watched as Newton won, of course. During halftime the new principal gave us a tour of the high school. Much was familiar and much had changed. The biggest difference was probably the technology. He also reviewed for us the levels of security that are in place after such incidents as Columbine. Can you imagine being watched by cameras in the hall and using computers and smart screens in the classrooms? He was also very proud that Newton had produced a Nobel Prize winner. John C. Mather, class of 1964, won the 2006 prize in physics.

Saturday evening our dinner was held at the Black Bear in Franklin. It was a very nice facility with generous portions of tasty food. About 65 class members attended for a total of 110 with guests. A DJ played fifties music and a picture was taken of the entire class. There was a lot of catching up. Fred Clayton came the furthest, traveling from California. We also had alumni from Florida, Michigan and Louisiana. After the dinner ended at about 11:00 a number of people extended the evening in the lounge of the Comfort Inn where we had a suite of rooms.

Sunday morning started with breakfast at the Comfort Inn and some good byes, but most went to Ed Risdon's for his traditional brunch. As always the spread was delicious. Ed has added a salt water pool which he designed and built. By mid afternoon those who had to travel were taking their leave and heading home.

Ed proposed an annual get together at his campground each fall so we can stay in touch. The first one was held on Sunday, October 5, 2008. This year's will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2009. See 2009 Get Together for details. We'll still do the larger event every five years.

Photos received are posted in the album.

Committee: The Reunion Committee included Myra Snook, Chair, Linda Chamberlain Hendrixson (lhendrixson@nac.net), Nancy Hawke Snook (nan-ed@nac.net), Alex Everitt, Alyce McKeeby, Martha Westra Strait, Dick Trinca, and Katherine Katzenstein Trexler.

45TH REUNION

Linda Chamberlain Hendrixson
Linda welcomes us to the reunion.

Our 45th Reunion was held Saturday, September 7, 2002 at the Best Western at Hunt's Landing in Matamoras, Pennsylvania. It was MCed by Linda Chamberlain Hendrixson.

Classmates came from as far as California, Oklahoma, Michigan, Louisiana and South Carolina. We live in 27 states plus the District of Columbia with 10 in Florida and 6 in California. Many no longer have relatives living in the area, so classmates are the only link to the place we grew up.

Our thanks to the Reunion committee of Myra Snook, Linda Chamberlain Hendrixson; Nancy Hawke Snook, Alex Everitt, Alyce McKeeby, Martha Westra Strait and Dick Trinca. Special thanks to Myra for chairing the committee and Nancy for editing the Reunion Booklet.

On Sunday many of us met for brunch at Ed Risdon's Harmony Ridge Campground as we have done at past reunions. It was a glorious autumn day, the way we want to remember fall in Sussex County. The food was good and the company better.

Revisit the day at Harmony Ridge in an album with photos taken by Ron Nagy. We couldn't identify everyone and a few may be wrong. Please send additions and corrections to Jon.Roe@comcast.net.

40TH REUNION

Our 40th Reunion was held Saturday, September 28, 1997 at the Best Western at Hunt's Landing in Matamoras, Pennsylvania. Many thought it was one of our best reunions. Returning were 65 of our 198 members and with friends and spouses there were a total of 115 people at the party.

5TH REUNION

Our 5th Reunion was held in the fall of 1962 at the Fireside Inn. It was our first reunion and we were nervous about comparing ourselves to everyone else. I had to scan this one in two pieces.
